Dose- and time-dependent systemic adverse reactions of sodium carboxy methyl cellulose after intraperitoneal application in rats

چکیده
Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose (SCMC) is an important absorbable biomaterial for anti-adhesion and hemostasis medical devices used in the abdominal cavity. However, systemic toxicity of SCMC following intraperitoneal route has not been revealed sufficiently. Three solutions with gradient concentrations were intraperitoneally injected into 3 groups rats doses 50 mg/kg, 320 mg/kg 2000 respectively all at once to observe dose-dependence reactions 10 (5 per sex) each group sacrificed days, 7 28 days 90 after injection evaluate time-dependence reactions. A range adverse effects shown high-dose which found varied time extending virtually disappeared injection. Slight observed medium-dose while negligible low-dose group. The application can induce reversible dose higher than it essential take both dose- time-dependent account designing a study biomaterials.

Dexamethasone and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose prevent postoperative intraperitoneal adhesions in rats
We aimed to evaluate the effects of the barrier agent sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (SCMC) with and without dexamethasone for the prevention of postoperative adhesion formation in a rat model of postoperative peritoneal adhesion. A total of 160 three-month old male and female Wistar rats underwent a laparotomy, and adhesions were induced by ileocecal abrasion. Rats were randomly assigned to 4 ...

The pumpkin is an important kitchen garden crop with very high nutritional value and long lifetime for storage and lot of fiber that acts as one of the best preventive factors from morbid obesity, hypertension, and cardiac diseases. As pretreatment for dehydration, osmotic dehydration creates maximum possible quality in the product by transfer of water outside the tissue of the nutrient. In thi...
متن کاملThe Effects of Adding Xanthan and Carboxy Methyl Cellulose on Cooking and Sensory Characteristics of Soya Burger
ABSTRACT: Soya burger is one of the meat replacers with low cholesterol content and saturated fats. Regarding the gums application in food systems, the effect of adding xanthan (0,0.4, 0.6%) and caboxymethylcellulose gums (0,0.4,0.6%) on water holding capacity (WHC), cooking loss, shrinkage and sensory evaluation of soya burger have been investigated. It was found that the samples with xanthan ...
